Mark your diaries: Wednesday 30 August is the date for the JCA-hosted Meet the Candidates meeting for Ohariu Electorate candidates seeking your votes in the 2017 general election.
This is your chance to meet the candidates in person, kanohi ki te kanohi, to test their mettle yourself, to hear :
- Why they want the job
- What they want to achieve for local people over the next 3 years
- How they plan to stay grounded in the electorate and connected with local people
There will be a short presentation from each of the candidates attending, followed by a question and answer session … so it’s also a chance for you to ask them about whatever relevant matter is of particular interest to you!
As usual we expect some opportunity to speak to individual candidates before or after the formal part of the evening.
The meeting will occur on the evening of Wednesday 30 August in the Main Hall at the Johnsonville Community Centre, the entrance is on Moorefield Road. The formal meeting will start at 7:30, but we will open the hall and set up from around 7pm.
There will be beverages and bikkies available to keep you going (we’re looking for a gold coin donation to help us pay for the PA system hireage).
