JCA President Tony Randle Elected Northern Ward Councillor

The Johnsonville Community Association is delighted to report that 2020-2022 Association President and long-time JCA stalwart, Tony Randle, has been elected to the Wellington City Council as a Takapū/Northern Ward Councillor.

Tony has been at the forefront of multiple JCA engagements with WCC over the years, advocating for Johnsonville on issues such as improved public transport, access to green space and ensuring that parking and cycleways are suitable for local conditions.

While aware of the need for impartiality, JCA is excited to see Tony- sorry, “Councillor Randle”- being voted onto Council, showing the community’s recognition of his longstanding promotion of local interests.

JCA is sad to lose Tony’s leadership as Association President but is certain that he will make a positive impact on Council and the wider city during his tenure as Ward Councillor.

Current JCA Vice President, Darren Bottin, will be stepping into the role of President until the next AGM in July 2023.
